Vic Firth artist Gifford Howarth is an active recitalist and educator in the percussion community. His signature line of mallets are designed to create the highest quality of sounds from the marimba in any recital hall or ensemble performance. Each model within the line offers unique qualities to bring out specific characteristics within each range of the instrument. All of the mallets feature an unfinished birch handle for a nature feel  a fixed with long lasting yarn beaters. 

The Medium Hard M163 model have excellent clarity in the high range and rich tones in the middle to low ranges. This makes them a great all around pair fo marimba mallets.
